It is understood that Anna Russell, 7th Duchess of Bedford, invented Afternoon Tea in 1840, to satisfy ‘that sinking feeling’ she often experienced mid afternoon, between luncheon and dinner.  The solution? A pot of tea and finger sandwiches (to be served without the crusts) taken privately in her boudoir…

AFTERNOON TEA at Drapers Hall

Drapers Signature Afternoon Tea follows the traditional combination of sweet and savoury. Everything is freshly and delicately prepared for each occasion.

Savour a variety of classic finger and open sandwiches, patisserie and warm scones accompanied by our own preserves and Cornish clotted cream – our pastries and preserves change to reflect the fruits of the season.

At the heart of the experience is the drink itself... Choose your Tea from a selection of our favourite blends. Alternatively, enjoy a glass of Prosecco with our Sparkling Afternoon Tea.
